Dr. Paul G. Harch Recognized by the UHMS for Contributions to the Field of Hyperbaric Medicine

At today's annual meeting of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society Dr. Paul G. Harch was awarded the annual Edgar End Memorial Lecture Award for contributions to the field of hyperbaric medicine.  Dr. Edgar End made significant advances in hyperbaric medicine through his pioneering of deep helium dives and the application of HBOT to acute carbon monoxide poisoning.  Dr. Harch gave a lecture on a review of the science and literature of HBOT in the treatment of mild TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder).  The lecture reviewed convincing proof that HBOT is effective in the treatment of the lingering effects of mild traumatic brain injury/concussion with or without PTSD.  Dr. Harch thanks the UHMS for this acknowledgement and award and looks forward to further advancing the field of hyperbaric medicine, particularly its applications to neurological conditions.
