Testimonial Treating a Brain Injured Soldier (Tim Hecker)

We decided to take a chance, and trust in Dr. Harch and HBOT, and in return--Tim has been given his life back.  There is no greater gift.

Tim was in Iraq and was exposed to multiple IED explosions from Jan 08 through May 08.  During January, one of the explosions threw him into the driver's lap of the vehicle he was riding in.  There was a second significant explosion at the end of March.  The vehicle in front of him was hit with a catastrophic explosion, eventually killing all in the vehicle.  Tim was close enough to this explosion that he felt the concussion waves, saw stars, became disoriented, and lost a large portion of time following the explosion.

Dr Harch, First to Treat Autism in 1996 w HBOT in Clinical Setting

Paul Harch, MD was one of the first physician in North America to treat a cerebral palsy child with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and could very well have been the first to also treat an autistic child. This news story from New Orleans ABC Channel 26 documents Dr Harch’s patient who was treated in 1996. The pediatric patient medically improves from no eye contact and no walking--to walking and engaging and appropriate communication skills.

HBOT TBI Recovery Testimonial of Former NFL Player
George Visger

November 26, 2012

George VisgerThough I was not treated personally at Dr. Harch's clinic, I owe him a debt of gratitude for his many years of dedicated work in treating traumatic brain injuries (TBI) with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).  I developed hydrocephalus [a buildup of fluid inside the skull that leads to brain swelling] and gran mal seizures which lead to an emergency Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) Shunting brain surgery while playing Defensive Tackle DT for the SF 49ers during the 1981 Super Bowl season.  Four months after our Super Bowl XVI victory my shunt failed and I survived 2 emergency brain surgeries 10 hours apart and was given last rites.  Four years later in 1986, I returned to school to complete my Biology degree.  During a 10-month period in 87, I survived 4 additional brain surgeries and several gran mal seizures while enrolled in Chemistry and Physics courses.  Due to the surgeries and seizures I developed severe short-term memory deficits and dyslexia, which added additional challenges to completing my degree.

Traumatic Brain Injury Patient Expresses His Gratitude to Harch Hyperbarics for a Better Quality of Life

Post Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in treatment of a head injury I am doing very well in School, starting an on campus Veterans Club.  I am currently writing an investigative essay for my English Comp class.... and yes, I am writing it on HBOT for TBI.  I appreciate everything you all did for me, because of you I am able to get out and interact with people and focus well enough to attend college.  You changed my life, maybe not back to normal, but definitely made my quality of life better.

Rebecca's Mom

To those considering HBOT I can't encourage you enough to give it a try. I am the mother of a near drowning child.  The neurologists encouraged me to either "let her go" or" put her in a home "as the stress of caring for a child in a vegative state would be insurmountable. Three weeks ago, that same neurological team kept saying "amazing", "keep it up".  They hadn't seen her since she started HBOT 3 sessions ago. Now they are asking for updates, frequent ones. You should have seen the smiles on their faces. The HBOT "family" is as good as it gets. They really care.  I've made friends that I can really count on when I need strength. I have had the privilege of developing a cyber internet friendship with Juliette Lucarini, RN at Harch Hyperbarics.  One of Gods earthly Angels.  What a wonderful, intelligent, caring woman she is.  Those who receive treatment at her facility are receiving the utmost of care by one of the most knowledgeable people in the HBOT field.  Although we have never met, I feel as though I've know Juliette for a long time.  She is always there to guide me and has helped me make the right decisions in aiding the "return" of my little girl.  Bless her.  Run, don't walk as every moment is precious and every moment with out treatment is time passing you and your loved one by.  God Bless.  Kathy

Sidath suffered a devastating attack of strep meningitis

Sidath suffered a devastating attack of strep meningitisIn 2006 our son Sidath suffered a devastating attack of strep meningitis. It was initially misdiagnosed as the flu and 24 hours later when the diagnosis of meningitis was made Sidath had already slipped into a coma. He remained in a semi comatose state for the next six months and suffered every side effect of the horrible infection. He needed VP shunts to clear the fluid from his brain and a g tube to nourish him. Unfortunately the shunts either malfunctioned or got infected making it necessary for him to have 10 shunt revisions (brain surgeries) within a six month period. During one particularly bad episode of a malfunctioning shunt he had a subdural hygroma on the right which caused paralysis to his left side.

Dr. Harch,

Sandra Hearn of Blue Star Mothers of AmericaMy family and I along with the Blue Star Mothers of America Chapter #4 would like to thank you for taking care of our Wounded Warriors! Words cannot express the gratitude we have in our hearts for you. You and your family are real patriots. I really am not sure what we would have done without you! Our organizations are working hard at trying to provide some assistance to you. Just realize we're working in the background in your favor! Jake has had nothing but great things to say about your Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy program and all of your people that have taken such wonderful care of our Hero. It brings tears to my eyes to know that someone cares for him as much as his momma does!

I will be sending a medical release form to you for medical records. We're getting yanked around a bit as Jake's told you, and these records are vital to getting help for our son and a disability rating from the military and VA.
THANK YOU again from the bottom of our hearts!

Madison - Severe brain trauma and cardio-respiratory arrest

Madison Severe Brain Trauma and Cardio-Respiratory Arrest Treated with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy [HBOT]

Shaken Baby Syndrome

Over the ensuing days she searched for help and eventually consulted Dr. Harch about HBOT. Immediate HBOT was recommended, but was unable to be obtained. Due to the child's instability and critical care demands transfer to New Orleans for free-standing HBOT was not possible. Eventually, Madison progressed off life support and was taken home. Four months after her injuries she was stable enough for transportation to New Orleans.
